The GCSE scheme of work has been design in conjunction with the AQA GCSE syllabus and allows for students to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding learnt at KS3.
At Calderstones, students follow the Art, Craft and Design course which means that they must work in at least two of the following areas:
Fine Art, Graphic Design, Textiles, Three-Dimensional Design and Photography.
As Part of their coursework, students complete two projects which allows them to record observations from both primary and secondary sources. Then then develop their ideas using a variety of materials, techniques and processes resulting in a final piece that shows a personal responce. Students learn to reseach the work of other artists and cultures through gallery visits, the internet and books. They then develop all of this in preperation for the ten hour exam. |
